Charity Golf Day 2021

Thursday the 26th of August saw the return of the Juboraj Rhiwbina Charity Golf day. In it’s twenty second year we celebrated the twenty first golf day. Like so many other events the pandemic saw last years event cancelled. And although this years was slightly smaller than usual, with 50 participants, it was no less successful. A fantastic days golf was followed by a great night at the Juboraj in Rhiwbina. With good drink, wonderful food, great pals, raffles and prize giving the night was one to remember. Especially for John Ford, the winner of the coveted green blazer. John scored 41 points to take his victory and said, “It’s taken me 41 years to win a singles trophy in golf. Winning such a prestigious trophy as the Juboraj Cup has made the wait worthwhile!”

Takeaways for the UHW – NHS frontline workers!

Here are some pictures of the latest delivery of meals for the NHS frontline workers based at the University Hospital of Wales in the Heath.

The staff at the Juboraj would once again like to thank them for their dedication and bravery during this difficult time. We will continue to help in whatever way we can for as long as it takes.

Feeding the NHS frontline staff.

The Juboraj Rhiwbina have been doing what they can to help the frontline workers at the NHS during this difficult time. So far they have provided almost 300 freshly made, hot, cooked meals. Chef DMC and his team will be providing at least another 200 over the coming days. We’ve been very pleased that the NHS staff have even taken the trouble to say thank you for the meals. One nurses from Rhiwbina took the time after a long shift to drop a thank you note to through the letterbox! The Public Health Wales Microbiology team took it in turns to eat theirs so they could maintain their distancing.

Ana Miah, managing director at Juboraj, says they wish they could do more and is pleased they could help in this small way.

Nessun Dorma Like you’ve never heard it before!

There was a great deal of chat, laughter and singing at the Juboraj Rhiwbina on the evening of the 14th November when the Rotary Club of Cardiff Breakfast worked in partnership with the Juboraj Rhiwbina to raise £996.5  for Cervical, Breast and Ovarian Cancer, Parkinson and 5C’s charities.

The authentic dishes prepared were outstanding and the Juboraj staff worked tirelessly throughout the evening to make it such a success.

Entertainment was provided by ‘The Chords’ an ensemble of ‘mature’ singers who regularly perform at charity fund raising events. The Chords was formed 20 years ago to entertain Cardiff Royal Infirmary Stroke Patients and has provided pleasure to thousands of people.

Prior to the evening the Rotary Club of Cardiff Breakfast had a collection for the Rohingya  Refugee  Appeal.  District Governor Maggie Hughes presented Ana Miah founder of the Juboraj with a cheque for the Bangladesh UK Environmental Foundation.
