Finalists of a prestigious new awards scheme celebrating the best businesses and individuals on Wales’ vibrant high streets, have been announced.
Juboraj Rhiwbina has made the finals of this scheme set up by the Welsh Government as part of the Support Your High Street campaign which celebrates the valuable contribution our busy high streets make to the Welsh economy, as well as the vital role they play in community life.
Established in 1989, Juboraj was set up by Ana Miah after he spotted the potential of Rhiwbina in north Cardiff’s vibrant high street.
Juboraj is a family-run Indian and Bangladeshi restaurant situated on Heol-Y-Deri and the whole team is committed to helping fund and support the many village events that take place all year round. Ana prides himself on this relationship with the community, to which he attributes the business’s continued success.
Since opening almost 27 years ago, Juboraj has expanded to six different locations over Cardiff with plans for the development of a seventh establishment next year.
Ana Miah said: “It is a great honour to be shortlisted in the High Street Heroes Awards and I’d like to thank the community for their continued support. Opening my own restaurant was always a dream and, with many family connections close by, I knew Rhiwbina was the perfect place to take my vision.”
“Being located on the high street is very significant for the business, as the vibrancy of the street attracts a lot of passing trade. It also allows us to be at the centre of the community, which is the most important thing for me”.
